About Flint Cottage Bed and Breakfast

Lionel and Mary Blanche welcome you to ‘Flint Cottage Bed and Breakfast’ in Reedham on the River Yare.

Who are we?
We have lived in this village for many years and have always had Bed and Breakfast accommodation. Due to moving to a smaller house 2 years ago we were unable to continue B&B for a while but are now ready again to offer accommodation once more.

Reedham is a pretty village situated on the north bank of the River Yare, some 12 miles east of Norwich. 34 Flint Cottage is one of the oldest properties in the village and you will find it on the Riverside - you just can’t miss it!

What does Reedham offer
Reedham still has a railway station with trains leaving for the Cathedral City of Norwich and beyond, also for Lowestoft and Acle. Recently a museum was opened at Reedham station, which was featured on ‘Look East’. There is a small village shop; a very popular Brewery, called ‘Humpty Dumpty’, serving cracking Real Ales from the Heart of the Norfolk Broads. There is Pettitts animal Adventure Park. Reedham can boast 3 pubs, 2 of them serving meals in their Restaurant. And of course when on the Riverside you have a wonderful vista - all for free. Plenty of traffic on the river at the height of the season, the marshes beyond where with a pair of binoculars you may see birds of prey such as barn owls, marsh harriers, kestrels or a peregrine falcon. Look out for the Chinese water deer, hares, rabbits and of course the cows often walking in a line on top of the dike. You can go for a walk alongside the river to Seven Mile House and come back by train or vice versa. The Wherryman’s Way, very popular with walkers, runs right through the village and wonderful bike rides can be made. Take Reedham ferry – the last remaining chain ferry – into Suffolk and go to Loddon or the market town of Beccles using country lanes. It’s not far and very do-able. Strumpshaw Fen is another nice place to go if you like birdwatching.

About the accommodation
Our Bed and Breakfast consists of just one double room completely self-contained – you will have your own key. It is spacious with a sitting area, TV and where you can also make yourself a cup of tea or coffee and relax. The room has its own private bathroom. The French doors in the bedroom lead via a small bridge to the various patios and steps down towards exiting the premises.

Due to the nature and design of the house and outside it is not suitable for wheelchair users. We can’t accommodate children and are unable to take pets. We have a strict No Smoking policy, in and outside.
There is safe parking across the road and safe bicycle storage is available.
English breakfast is served in our large kitchen or if the weather allows, you can enjoy the first meal of the day outside on the patio.
