The quaint seaside town of Happisburgh is home to the oldest working, independently operated lighthouse on the Norfolk coast. Unfortunately, Happisburgh is one of the most eroded parts of the North Norfolk Coastline. It is literally being washed away by the sea. If one is willing to climb the 133 steps, fantastic views of the surrounding coast can be enjoyed from the top of Happisburgh's church tower. Looking inland, you can also see Norwich Cathedral on a clear day. Many famous people have visited Happisburgh, including Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Sir John Betjeman and HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.
