The history of Sea Palling is characterised by sea flooding and ship wrecks and the heroism of the Sea Palling Lifeboats is a mainstay of local lore.
Sea Palling has a Saxon church - St. Margaret's - with an AD900 tower. The church used to feature a thatched roof but this has now been replaced by slates. Visitors can read commemorations for the Sea Palling Lifeboat Service.
Norfolk and Suffolk villages often boast attractive village signs and Sea Palling's sign is one of the finest. It is a relief carving showing one of Sea Palling's Lifeboats riding an enormous wave.
