WELCOME to TRY SAILING

Our Ethos is to introduce people to the pleasures of sailing a yacht on the Norfolk Broads. We provide "have a go" sessions and have also incorporated the Norfok Broads Yacht Training Centre, which a recognised RYA Training Centre, through which we provide RYA courses.

TUITION: is with our very experienced RYA Senior Instructor.

THE YACHT
We sail a 24 ft Pegasus yacht which has easy to learn straightforward controls. As well as sitting outside in the cockpit there is comfort below with seating around a table and there is a toilet in a separate cabin.

This gives you close tuition and ability to learn the various skills from helming to sheet handling and the roles which others play on a yacht. There is some theory on the courses but we spend as much time as possible out on the water.

COURSES

RYA COURSES

LEVEL 1 Keelboat
This is a 2 day introduction to sailing for beginners. It will give you a basic understanding of sailing, boat handling, rigging, rules of the road, equipment, knots and emergency precautions and procedures etc. The Royal Yachting Association recommend that participants consolidate these skills with the Level 2 course.


LEVEL 2 Keelboat
This course can be taken over 2 days and is the natural progression from the above Level 1 course, or can be taken by those who are up to that standard. It is designed to take you to the level of sailing without an instructor on board in light winds. You will be building on skills and knowledge already learnt as well as learning to manoeuvre the yacht under engine.


SEAMANSHIP SKILLS and DAY SAILING: These are more advanced courses taken over 2 days for those already up to the skills of Level 2. Please telephone for more details.


TRY SAILING COURSES

FLOTILLA TUITION
This is a 2 day course designed to help you get the most out of a Flotilla holiday in the Mediterranean. Some existing sailing experience is needed or beginners can additionally book a sailing course.

HAVE A GO SESSIONS: To give you the experience of yacht sailing.

OTHER COURSES: Are offered which can be tailor made to your experience and requirement whether you want to sail a boat on the Broads or in the Med.

TEAM BUILDING COURSES: Are available from our experienced senior instructor.

Level 1 Keelboat: 1 person : £235 OR £147 if say you book 4 people
Level 2 Keelboat: 1 person : £285 OR £178 if say you book 4 people
Combined Level 1 & 2: 1 person for 4 days: £480 OR £300 each for 4
Other RYA courses: 1 person for 2 day courses are: £235

Have A Go: 1 person : £95
Additional people booked by you: £47

Flotilla 2 Day Course: £235 with additional people booked by you at half price.

Gift Vouchers: Vouchers are available for all courses and have a go sessions (Birthday, Christmas, Retirement gifts etc)


All RYA course prices include log book and certificate where appropriate and also the use of life jackets/buoyancy aids.

The days of each course need not be consecutive.

Tea/coffee and biscuits are served at break times free of charge.


LOCATION
THE YACHT is situated approximately 4 miles from Wroxham we sail on Barton Broad and its connecting rivers which is ideal for sailing yachts.
