The Broads Green Boat Show - a unique green event for Norfolk

The Broads Green Boat Show, the only show dedicated to sustainable boating and green energy, takes place on Saturday 8 September from 11am-4pm, at Salhouse Broad. You can reach the show by road, or by electric water taxi from Wroxham.

The show offers the chance to try out a whole range of environmentally friendly boats in the peaceful setting of the privately-owned Salhouse Broad, a tranquil and undiscovered beauty spot in the Norfolk Broads. Or you can take a free trip to Hoveton Great Broad Nature Trail which is only accessible by water.

At the Broads Green Boat Show you'll find:

* Lots of boats to try, including kayaks, canoes, electric boats, pedal boats, rowing boats, yachts and dinghies
* Free trips on the electric reed lighter, Helen of Ranworth, to Hoveton Great Broad Nature Trail
* Displays of fuel cells, solar panels, wind turbines, recycled products and much more
* Refreshments, including freshly made crepes
* Traditional jazz band

The show, which is organised by The Broads Society and The Electric Boat Association and supported by the Broads Authority and the Sustainable Development Fund, is a showcase for green energy ñ fuel cells, solar panels, wind turbines ñ and for all types of ëlow impactí materials and products that encourage responsible use of our waterways.

Peter Howe, co-organiser of the show says, 'The aim of the show is to encourage ëlow carboní propulsion for boats ñ rowing, paddling, pedalling, sailing, electric and biofuel-powered ñ as well as to promote other aspects of environmentally-friendly design and construction.'
