Sutton Pottery is a small working pottery in rural east Norfolk, built by Malcolm Flatman in 1977. The workshop is a permanent 'Open Studio', and visitors are very welcome inside: Please see the map and directions on the website.

Range of Pottery

Malcolm is celebrating 30 years of high-quality production at Sutton Pottery. His range of 'reduction' stoneware pottery made on the Potter's Wheel continues to expand.
He has originated a broad palette of colours which he brings to life in the fire of a gas kiln.
The consistent designs and glazes allow tableware sets to be maintained and expanded to suit customers requirements.

Use and Care of Pottery

The pottery is dishwasher-safe, microwaveable and oven-proof.
It is unaffected by food acids and household cleaners.
Special Orders and Commissions
Malcolm also produces many decorative items, including house name plates, 'smokey dragon' incense burners, model tractors, cars, planes and spaceships.
He creates distinctive lamps, such as churches, cottages, lighthouses and windmills.
He especially enjoys the challenge of making individual items to customers own requirements, including mementos of a Kenyan safari, tropical fish breeding tubes, Communion sets and practical items for those with handling difficulties, such as arthritis.

Wedding Lists

Malcolm is happy to liaise with couples in setting up wedding lists.
