Ancestral Anglia - an historical journey in words, images and music

Saturday 19th October 2013 at 7.30pm
St Lawrence Centre, South Walsham, NR13 6DQ

Ancestral Voices (Sarah Doig, Tony Scheuregger & Jane Scheuregger) present a unique blend of history and music. Through a combination of historical narrative, contemporary accounts, images and music played on authentic period instruments, Ancestral Voices brings the past to the present.

Ancestral Anglia is an historical journey from the beginning of the sixteenth century up to the early 1700s. It is a celebration of the regions rich cultural heritage through the eyes of visitors to the region such as Will Kemp, a Shakespearean comic actor, and Daniel Defoe. We also explore East Anglia's royal connections, including the effect Henry the Eighth had on the region, primarily through the dissolution of the monasteries, and the summer progress made by Queen Elizabeth the First in 1578.

Tickets £10 (£8 for Friends of St Lawrence’s) available on the door
To include a glass of wine in the interval
