Fishing Boat Information & Hire
You can also hire a boat locally for the day to go fishing on the Broads or bring your own; preferably a boat with a shallow draft or sailing dinghy (no petrol motors); that can be launched from one of the free slipways or for a small fee- most of the boatyards have slipways that you can use.
All boats must be licensed with the Broads Authority.
When fishing from a boat it is advisable that you have your fishing gear organised in such a way that movement within the boat is minimized, that you wear quiet footwear and the boat is not overcrowded. You should always wear a life jacket when on the water. Please do not fish from a moving boat, and use mud weights gently lowered into the water to lay anchor.
The Norfolk Broads are a fragile wetlands environment, so please take litter home with you and remember never to discard fishing tackle, as it can easily harm wildlife.
