See stunning life-size Victorian street and shop displays. You’ll marvel at how many original exhibits we have here – over 150,000 all beautifully presented showing over 100 years of British history.

Your unique and fascinating journey starts here – take in a visit to the ironmongers shop, discover what it was like in a 19th century apothecary. The younger ones will be amazed at what a toy shop looked like compared to today!

Your journey continues with life-like historical figures such as Winston Churchill and Queen Victoria – you will even take an audience with her and also view the Royal exhibition.

Meet also the life-size characters from famous Victorian novels. Your journey will be full of surprises including sound and light shows.

Discover what the local car mechanic’s garage was like, visit the amazing wheelwrights or the fantastic display of cameras – there’s so much to see.


Award Winning Victorian Themed Tea Room


Our delightful Victorian tea room is situated right at the front so you can pop in and out whenever you like.

If there’s one thing you must try, it’s one of our cream teas – we’re famous for the best cream teas in Norfolk. Come and try one today.

Our superb team are all dressed in period costume and we come and serve you!

Great tea, great coffee and great cakes! Our sandwiches are freshly made and delightfully served on one of our platters.

Just sit back, relax and take in the ambience of the tea room whilst we serve you. It’s a great place to stop off if you’re just passing.

If you’re visiting the museum you’re welcome in the tea room before you go in or after you’re done – the choice is yours!

In Victorian times Britain became the richest and most powerful nation on earth. The population of Britain more than doubled and towns and cities grew in size!
