There are over three miles of woodland walks all easy walking with superb views across our private broad. The waterways leading down to our broad are crossed by 15 little rustic bridges.
There are wonderful reflections of trees and flowers in the water, from the spectacular candelabra primulas in Spring, to the lovely hydrangeas in late Summer. The glow of the trees in Autumn is something to behold.
We have many ancient oaks and beech trees including the fabulous 950 year-old King Oak. The garden is organic. We only use farmyard manure and our own leaf soil mulch to fertilise the soil. The flora and fauna in the garden are testimony to this approach. We also carry out traditional woodland management practices in the Winter like coppicing, which are also beneficial to the wildlife.
Our leaf soil and shade and moisture-loving plants propagated from garden stock and coppicing products, such as peasticks and stakes for small trees, fence posts etc. are all sold at the plant centre.
