Secluded and beautiful village campsite in Hickling, close to the famous Hickling Broad right in the heart of the Norfolk Broads. This lovely campsite opens on the 1st May and closes on the 30th September
Tom and Jo are delighted to welcome you to what they describe as their ‘little piece of paradise’. As a local couple who absolutely love Norfolk and camping, they decided to combine the two! So the campsite has generous space for tents on wonderfully flat grassy pitches.
Onsite we have...
Spacious pitches for tents (sorry! no caravans or campers) Peace and quiet Toilets and showers, free to use, with hot water and no annoying push-button taps Outdoor washing up sinks Braziers for your campfire, cooking, with plenty of wood available to purchase On tap drinking water Rubbish bins for recycling and general waste Pet-friendly (we welcome dogs provided they are kept on a lead within the campsite) Numerous cycle and footpaths
There are plenty of braziers to gather around with marshmallows or simply cook burgers on, firewood available to purchase too.
Hickling Campsite is just perfect because once you have pitched your tent and settled in, then you can get busy discovering how wonderful this part of Norfolk really is. A short cycle ride takes you to a secluded, vast sandy beaches and a short walk finds you at Hickling’s quaint, traditional village pub The Greyhound and on the edge of the broad is the Pleasure Boat Inn.
The campsite also benefits from extremely low light pollution and the sky on a clear summer’s night is truly a wonder. The Milky Way and myriad constellations are on display and, if you are lucky enough you can catch a shooting star or two!
Hickling Broad is an absolute haven for wildlife too, being a national nature reserve established by English Nature and in the care of the Norfolk Wildlife Trust, there are plenty of boat trips around the reserve for visitors to explore and it is connected to the 125 miles of navigable waterways so you can always venture further afield on the waterways of the Norfolk Broads
