UEA Music Society and Opera Society have joined together to host a vocal Masterclass given by former principal soprano at the English National Opera, Hannah Francis, on Saturday 12 May at 10am and 2pm at the UEA Music Centre.
This is a unique opportunity to experience a Masterclass given by an outstanding professional singer.
Hannah’s approach is perceptive, sensitive and creative. Her aim is to free the performer and help them to recognise their true potential. She creates a fun, relaxed and trusting atmosphere, communicating with both participant and audience in a constructive and thoroughly entertaining way. Hannah believes it is very important that people go away feeling enriched and with a desire to continue growing.
Hannah was a principal soprano at the English National Opera, and has performed in many concerts here and abroad. She received a scholarship to the Royal College of Music to study Harp and Voice at the age of 15 and soon after won the Royal Overseas League Prize for the most promising young musician in Great Britain. She has worked with many distinguished conductors and has won various prestigious prizes throughout her career. She is also the founder of the Tower of London Music festival.
Dubbed the voice whisperer, Hannah excels at building confidence and trust in her pupils whilst developing sound technique and vocal freedom.
The Masterclass is open to all UEA students, staff and members of the public. We are looking for classical singers in Norwich and the surrounding areas to participate.
