Waveney River Centre Camping
Waveney River Centre is the Broads' multi-award winning Holiday Park & Marina, set in the beautiful surroundings of South Norfolk's Waveney Valley, with stunning south and west facing views across marshes and river. The Park is a wildlife haven, where you can spend hours watching birds, insects and other wildlife from the peace & quiet of your holiday lodge, or venture further along the river by day cruiser or canoe.
The Park features a family-friendly pub, indoor heated swimming pool & café (refurbished for 2011), children's play areas, Mace convenience store, launderette and information centre. Our pedestrian ferry (new for 2012) drops you on the edge of Suffolk Wildlife Trust's Carlton Marshes nature reserve, where you can explore the Broads in miniature, take a short walk to Oulton Broad (50 minutes) or a longer hike to Beccles (3 hours).
Our touring & camping area is small and family-oriented, with room for 17 touring caravans and up to 35 tents. It occupies an idyllic south-facing location overlooking the marina and river, with leisure centre, showers, toilets & wash up area all immediately adjacent. For 2012 we completely re-invented our campsite so that all the pitches are on level ground with fantastic views across the marina. All our family pitches can be classed as large (no less than 8m x 9m overall) whilst our premium Coot pitches are now a frankly enormous 12m x 10m which must surely be enough for anyone. All pitches on our main camping area have electric hookup as standard.
Waveney River Centre was a triple winner at the 2010 EDP Norfolk Tourism Awards - for Customer Care, Best Holiday Park and Best Broads Holiday Experience. In 2009, 2010 & 2011 we received David Bellamy's Gold Conservation accolade, and we were winners in the 2010 Practical Boat Owner Green Awards for Best Service & Support.
