Head right ...
Heading right (under Wroxham Bridge) takes you in the direction of Coltishall. With many of the larger boats unable to fit under the bridge, the river is much quieter. The narrower winding river is particularly beautiful in this direction and if it's peace and quiet you're looking for then this is the direction for you. Coltishall is approximately 1 hour 20 minutes up the river where you'll find The Rising Sun and King's Head pubs - ideal for a spot of lunch.
Head left ...
By far a busier, more vibrant direction. Enjoy the array of wonderful riverside properties. Continue past (or through) Wroxham Broad, past Salhouse Broad (the home of the famous ice cream boat) and on towards Horning. Horning is a delightful Norfolk Broads village with lovely local gift shops, a picturesque village green (with free moorings) and a choice of riverside pubs. The first of the pubs on your left side is the Swan Inn. This is followed shortly by The New Inn which is our recommendation for a drink or lunch. They have a large area for day boats and you'll be assisted with your mooring by Gus, their helpful mooring man! It will take approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes to reach The New Inn.
