Yarebreaks is a two bedroomed bungalow situated on the banks of the River Yare in Brundall, providing spacious accommodation for two people (the second bedroom contains a bunk bed perfectly suited to two children but perhaps a little small for two grown fishermen or birdwatchers!).
This privately owned riverside property has 34ft of river frontage providing a perfect base for a peaceful break.
The River Yare has an excellent reputation for fishing and our quay offers an ideal site to catch all that the Broads have to offer in terms of fresh water fishing including perch, roach, bream and of course pike! If you fancy some boat based fishing we have a small (very!) rowing boat that can be made available. If you are looking for something larger we can provide contact details. Note close fishing season is 15th March to 15th June inclusive.
The chalet also provides an ideal base for bird watching. Neil Glenn, author of “Best Birdwatching Sites in Norfolk” says “Norfolk is rightly regarded by birdwatchers as the best county to visit in Britain to see birds. The real beauty of Norfolk is that there is a mouth-watering variety of bird species to admire, no matter what time of year you choose to come. From the spectacle of thousands of Geese in winter, the wonder of migrating species in spring and autumn to the array of breeding Waders and Warblers, you are guaranteed to see something special during your time in this very special county.” More recently we have also shared the water with a friendly otter - last spotted by the Wood family on the Quay Heading on New Years Day!
If bird watching or fishing is not for you - or like me you are a 'fisher widow' - the chalet offers a perfect opportunity to simply wind down, watching the passing Broads wildlife and river crafts. The sunsets are simply beautiful as evidenced by our main website picture.
