Shopping Days Out on the Norfolk Broads
The Norfolk Broads offer some fantastic places to shop, with great gift ideas for all the family in one location.
The shopping experience in Norwich is somewhat of a must. With Norwich being so close to the Norfolk Broads, anyone can make the short trip to enjoy a fantastic day out. Norwich's Chapelfield Centre is a New Mall, the chapelfield Mall has over 80 shops, 16 tempting cafés and restaurants and the only House of Fraser in the region, Chapelfield shopping centre is a place to shop, a place to dine, and a place to meet. Most of all it is a place to enjoy.
The Castle Mall is another great shopping location. Next to Norwich Castle you'll find all your shopping needs. The Mall has brands such as Boots and TK Maxx, as well as Vue cinema and independent retailers.
Norwich is something of a shoppers' paradise and there are few, if any, of the leading high street names which do not have a presence in Norfolk's capital city. Right in the very centre of this historic English city is the Castle Mall, a unique underground retail centre.
Its distinctive, highly impressive design affords the shopper a light, bright and airy environment in which to shop. Most modern shopping malls are to found on the outskirts of major towns, but Norwich's Castle Mall is the exception to the rule. It stands unobtrusively in the very centre of the city, within the shadow of the Norwich's 11th century Castle and within strolling distance of the equally ancient Norman Cathedral.
Worthy of special mention are the Broadland twin villages of Wroxham & Hoveton, separated only by the river Bure which flows between them. On the Hoveton side of the Bure is to be found Roys of Wroxham, the biggest village store in the world.
This is no idle claim, we do assure you, but just how Roys became to be known as Roys of Wroxham, rather than of Hoveton, is one of those mysteries lost in the mist of time.
