Fishing Hotspots

Fishing Hotspots

The Norfolk Broads has lots of free fishing places and angling platforms along most of the river banks and of course, you can also fish from a boat. There are Private Broads that offer fishing by prior arrangement and Day Ticket Bank Fishing Spots. Always check with the fishery owner for detailed directions and permit information. However there are certain Broads where fishing is not permitted because they are conservation areas and are signposted. The fish are very knowledgeable about where they hide, so choose your place carefully. Listed below are most of the good spots.  If you are willing to share your favourite hotspot, please let us know where it is.

Where To Go Fishing on the Norfolk Broads

The region has lots of free fishing places and angling platforms along most of the river banks of the Broads and you can also fish from a boat. There are also Private Broads that offer fishing by prior arrangement and Day Ticket Bank Fishing Spots. Always check with the fishery owner for detailed directions and permit information. However there are certain Broads where no fishing is permitted because they are conservation areas, and are signposted.

Accessability

The Broads Authority also provide ease of access with fishing platforms for wheelchair users available at Rollesby Bridge, Filby Broads and on the south-east bank of the River Thurne (Martham) and upstream of the New Bridge at Potter Heigham.

Many of the Broads are not accessible by road and are private. Prior arrangement is necessary for those wishing to fish. Here are some of the Broads where you can fish, followed by contact details of the Still Water and River Coarse Fishing that is available on the Norfolk Broads.

The Norfolk Broads are a fragile wetlands environment, so please take litter home with you and remember never to discard fishing tackle, as it can easily harm wildlife.
