Sandringham Cottage is in a near perfect central location on the very banks of the River Bure in Wroxham, the "Capital of the Norfolk Broads", and is an idyllic base for up to four people to relax, unwind and enjoy a riverside break in Norfolk.
The cottage has just been fully refitted and now boasts totally redecorated and refurnished bedrooms, a brand new bathroom, fully refitted kitchen and new flooring throughout.
The cottage will accommodate four guests in one double and one twin bedroom. Both rooms have dual aspect River Bure views. Each bedroom has full height ceilings, ample storage in drawers and a large wardrobe - towels are provided and beds are made up for your arrival.. The bathroom, again with full height throughout, is upstairs and has a bath with shower over, basin and toilet. A brand new heater and heated towel rail are also fitted.
Downstairs there is a dual aspect lounge with feature porthole window that looks directly over the River Bure to the Hotel Wroxham so you can watch the activities in the river, whether these be if the wild birds or the various boats and canoes. When sitting on the new sofas you can also look downstream over Wroxham reach, a similar view to the one from standing on Wroxham Bridge. The kitchen has been fully refitted and features a built in oven, hob, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher so you can concentrate on enjoying your holiday
Moving outside through the French doors there is a covered south east facing balcony immediately adjacent to the River Bure - an ideal location to sit and enjoy coffee in the morning sun. Your car can be parked off the road and we can even arrange to moor your boat on site if you wish during your stay. Fishing is available in season from the gardens with the appropriate licence.
Investment in the insulation, double glazing and all new heating arrangements mean that the cottage is a cosy proposition for winter breaks now and not just a base for those lazy summer days.
Prices are seasonal but vary from £275 a week for winter fishing to £875 a week in the peak summer season.
Wroxham is known as "The Capital of the Norfolk Broads". The Broads themselves are a series of man made lakes connected by rivers that provide mile after mile of tranquil waterways that are ideal for fishing, birdwatching, kayaking, sailing and motor boating. Day boat hire canoe or skippered tour trips are all within an easy 5 minute walk of your door!
For those not wishing to use the self catering option - provisions can be purchased in the nearby Roy's Food Hall - our favourite venues include the Yim Siam Thai restaurant, Wherryman's Restaurant for pizzas, the Hotel Wroxham for an evening meal now it is under the new management of Wendy, The River Kitchen for a light lunch or afternoon tea and The Shed, about a one minute walk from the cottage, for a pint of beer in the evening with a game of pool or darts on the Peninsula Marina development.
Further afield are the seaside towns of Cromer, Sheringham, Sea Palling and Great Yarmouth with great sandy beaches. Norwich is about 8 miles away with its cathedral, market, castle and shopping opportunities. This can be accessed by bus train or the Sprowston park and ride as you wish.
There are also a number of attractions for children - Bewilderwood, Wroxham Barns, the Bure Valley Railway and zoos such as Africa Alive. For stately homes lovers there is Blickling Hall, Holkham Hall and of course Sandringham House!
